KELOWNA – Allied Corp. (OTCQB: ALID) an international medical company focused on creating and providing health solutions to address today’s medical mental health issues reported that it has now received clearance from the Colombian authorities to export cannabis-based products from its first harvest.
This is a newly achieved milestone for Allied since the acquisition of Allied Colombia and respective licenses in Colombia in February 2020. Since Allied’s entrance into Colombia, it has developed the production center in Colombia, registered its genetics, successfully produced the test harvest, presented to the Colombian Ministry of Agriculture and gained the approval to go forth with commercial cultivation. Following the first commercial harvest, Allied obtained signed sales off-take contracts with international buyers and lastly applied for clearance to export. The clearance for export has now been granted.
“The accomplishment of this key milestone in such a short period of time shows the competence of the Allied team and the ability to execute on our business plan. We are now ready to start shipping product, a goal that has taken us only fourteen months to accomplish,” said Calum Hughes CEO of Allied.
According to publicly available information from the Colombian Ministry of Health and Department of Agriculture (ICA), as of December 2020, there are 650 companies with licenses for the production of Cannabis derivatives in Colombia. All companies are at different stages and many are not moving forward. Approximately 10% of these companies have passed their ICA seed evaluation and only a handful of companies have been cleared to export product. Allied Colombia is now one of the Colombian companies cleared to export.
